La Fonda on Main is San Antonio’s oldest Mexican restaurant - since 1932. Our primary focus is interior Mexican dishes, with some great Tex-Mex mixed in. Mama's was one of Cappy’s early ventures, which he operated until 1988. In 2021, the Lawton family stepped back in, and reopened with an upgraded look, new kitchen, and a beautiful patio/beer garden. Same comfortable feel and elevated comfort foods, taken up a notch and made from scratch. Mama’s has something for everyone, and most items can be made gluten-free!
